Involving children in growing and harvesting food is an important part of what we do—and have been doing for more than 90 years.

That’s why we are extremely proud to be a founding program with the Edible Schoolyard.

Founded in Berkeley, California by chef, activist, and author Alice Waters, the Edible Schoolyard Project aims to build and share a food curriculum for every school in the country. Providing interactive experiences in the classroom, kitchen, garden, and lunchroom has the power to transform the health and values of every child in America. The Project envisions this “edible education” as part of the core curriculum of every school in the nation.

As a founding program with the Edible Schoolyard, we are able to contribute our own unique perspective to an internationally recognized farm-to-table movement. Emphasizing exploration and experiential education are integral to this process.
