With the support of friends of both School and Camp, we have an unprecedented opportunity to ensure that children from all over the world will always have a place to run barefoot on the grass, milk goats, collect eggs, groom horses, and climb to the top of granite faced mountains. These kinds of experiences help children find their inner strengths, and ground them for the challenges that lie ahead in an ever faster-paced world.

Eileen Rockefeller’s Challenge

Eileen Rockefeller Growald (CTT ’63, staff ’69-’71, parent ’97-’99, NCS ’66, trustee ’76-84 and ’92-98) committed $500,000 to challenge our community to sustain School and Camp in strategic ways.

Her generosity inspired our Board of Trustees to commit an additional $1.25 million.

Eileen’s gift, combined with trustee giving, totals $1.75 million. This unprecedented challenge amount now fuels a dollar-for-dollar match until we reach $3.5 million. This match will:

  • Grow the Annual Fund from $1.2 million to $1.3 million from 1,000 donors ($200k goal over 2 years).
  • Build scholarship endowment by establishing the Richard Rockefeller Fresh Start Scholarship Fund and growing other endowment funds ($1.5 million goal).
  • Preserve Round Lake by acquiring and endowing the 20-acre property and newly named Eileen Rockefeller House “RockE House” ($1.8 million goal).

This means that any new gifts or increases in your typical support will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Eileen and the trustees until we meet the $3.5 million goal.

  • How does this work?  If you typically give $100 and increase this year to $250, the $150 increase is matched 1 to 1 and your gift grows to $400.
  • Can I make a multi-year pledge?  Yes, you can make a pledge (up to 5 years) and the amount you pledge which is over and above your typical annual support will be matched for the duration of the pledge.
  • How does a pledge work?  If you typically give $100 and make a pledge to give $250 for each of the next 5 years, the $150 increase for each year is matched 1 to 1 and your gift grows from $1,250 to $2,000.

Please consider doubling or tripling your current gift to help us achieve these goals. We can’t do it without you.
